Character Headcanons
I’m was not on a train, but I am was on a plane, so here’s some headcanons:
What was their first job?
Ignan - A few weeks’ summer experience working for a friend of the family who sold elaborate chests and storage furniture for concealing valuables, when he was 16. Decided he was no salesman, but was intrigued by the charms.
Johann - Correcting and proofing classmate’s work in his final year, and the odd bit of admin/office work at Chrysopoeia when he was little, though he wasn’t paid, he was just bored enough to do it for his mother’s colleagues. His father preferred to give him things to study.
Camille - Local magical greengrocers in France during the school holidays when she was 14.
Francis - Apprenticing with his father in the Department of Mysteries after leaving Hogwarts.
Ambrose - Not begun yet, but apprentice beast handler!
Tim - Not had a job yet, but aspires to be a healer.
Monty - Portrait painting, which earned him nothing while he was an apprentice and then a living when he was established.
Nadine - Summer job sorting Hogwarts text books for sale at Flourish and Blotts. Hagrid can go to hell for his book choices.
Ariadne - Writing the odd bit for her father and Devia Orbis.
Cepheus - Magical Menagerie in Diagon Alley, after being rejected from Gringotts. His school summers had been spent experiencing culture and furthering his own studies as pushed by his parents, who were happy to support him.
Mortimer - Unspeakable, Department of Mysteries.
Edwin - Muggle newsagents, delivering newspapers when he was 12.
Elixa - Internship at Chrysopoeia with Johann’s parents, staying with their family, summer of 1993.
Lawrence - Fishmongers in Diagon Alley when he was 17, attempting to earn some money to buy a new broom. Lasted a week, couldn’t eat fish for a year or two.
